The Logistics Manager is a customized application within your Sales 360 platform, designed to manage the post-sale delivery process, from order assignment to final delivery and signature capture.
| Component | Sales 360 Mapping | Purpose |
| Order Tracking | Standard Order Object (or Custom Order) | The starting point for all deliveries. |
| Delivery Routes | Custom Object: Delivery Route | Defines the planned stops and associated dockets. |
| Delivery Docket | Custom Object: Delivery Docket | The central unit of work. One Docket contains multiple Orders, assigned to one Delivery Boy. |
| Delivery Users | Standard User Object with Profile/Role | Manager and Delivery Boy profiles. |
| Signature Capture | Attachment/Files (linked to Docket) | Stores the proof of delivery signature. |
Access is governed by the platform's Profiles and Permission Sets to ensure each user sees only relevant data.
| Logistics Role | Sales 360 Profile Mapping | Key Permissions / Access |
| Admin | Standard System Administrator | Full access (CRUD) to all objects: Orders, Routes, Dockets, and User Management. |
| Manager | Custom Manager Profile | CRUD access on Routes and Dockets. Read/Assign access on Orders. Can assign Orders to existing Dockets and change Docket/Order statuses. |
| Delivery Boy | Custom Delivery Boy Profile | Access via Mobile App/Field Service Console. Read-Only on assigned Dockets. Can update the status of their assigned Dockets/Orders and capture signatures. |
Managers use the primary Sales 360 interface (Desktop or Tablet) to organize and dispatch deliveries.
Routes are the geographical or scheduled framework for deliveries.
Create New Route: Navigate to the Delivery Route tab and click New.
Enter Route Name (e.g., "North Zone AM," "Downtown Express").
Set Scheduled Date and optional Notes.
View Dockets on Route: The Route record includes a related list showing all Delivery Dockets assigned to it.
Edit/Delete: Managers can modify the route details or delete the route (if no active dockets are assigned).
Dockets are the manifests used by Delivery Boys.
Create New Docket: Navigate to the Delivery Docket tab and click New.
Assign Delivery Boy: Link the Docket to a platform User with the "Delivery Boy" role.
Assign Route: Link the Docket to an existing Delivery Route.
Assigning Orders to a Docket:
Go to the Docket record detail page.
Use the Assign Orders button (a custom action/flow).
Select one or more Open Orders (where Delivery Status is "Pending Dispatch") to link to this Docket.
Note: An order can only be assigned to one non-completed Docket at a time.
Editing a Docket: Managers can modify the assigned Delivery Boy or Route even after creation.
Managing Order Status: Managers can update the status of individual orders linked to the Docket if needed (e.g., mark an order as "Customer Unavailable" before the Delivery Boy is active).
Delivery Boys use a streamlined mobile interface (e.g., Salesforce Field Service Mobile App or a dedicated Experience Cloud Site).
Upon login, the Delivery Boy is directed to a list of their Assigned Dockets with the status "Pending."
Click on a Docket to view the details, including the linked Route and a related list of all Orders to be delivered.
A map view component should display the optimal route based on the Orders.
The status of the Docket and its Orders must be updated sequentially.
| Status Update | Action / Trigger |
| Docket Start | Delivery Boy changes Docket status from Pending $\rightarrow$ Confirmed. |
| Individual Order Delivery | Delivery Boy navigates to an individual Order record. Changes Order Status (e.g., from "Out for Delivery" to Delivered or Failed). |
| Docket Completion | Delivery Boy changes Docket status to Delivered. This action triggers an Automation Flow to update the status of ALL remaining linked Orders to "Delivered" if not already set. |
This action is only available when the Order Status is set to Delivered.
The Delivery Boy clicks Capture Signature (Custom Action).
The mobile interface opens a signature pad.
The captured signature is saved as an Attachment/File record, linked directly to the specific Order record and the main Delivery Docket.
Access the Logistics Dashboard (built using standard Sales 360 reporting tools) for key metrics:
Total Dockets: Filterable by status (Pending, Confirmed, Delivered).
Delivery Boy Performance: Reports on the number of successful deliveries per Delivery Boy.
Route Efficiency: Time taken to complete deliveries by Route.
On the Delivery Docket record, click the Generate PDF button (a custom action/Visualforce page).
This creates a printable PDF manifest showing the Docket ID, Delivery Boy, Route, and a detailed list of all Orders contained within, including customer name and address.
