We are thrilled to announce a significant update to the Sales 360 Point of Sale (POS) module, rolling out as This latest release focuses on enhancing in-store flexibility, improving cashier management, and streamlining the checkout process with powerful discounting features.

1. Advanced Payment Flexibility: Split Payments

A major highlight of this update is the introduction of Split Payment functionality. This allows cashiers to accept multiple forms of payment for a single transaction.

• Process Multiple Methods: Customers can now pay for an order using a combination of different methods, such as part cash and part credit card.

• Dedicated Payment Tracking: A new order_payment database table is created to accurately track and record each individual payment method and amount used per order, ensuring precise financial reporting.

• Dynamic Integration: The system automatically loads and utilizes all enabled payment extensions in your  store, alongside the standard 'POS Cash' option.

2. Comprehensive Discounting and Loyalty Integration

The checkout process is now fully integrated withbuilt-in marketing and loyalty systems, bringing online discounts directly to the point of sale.

• Coupon Support: Cashiers can apply existing Coupons directly at checkout to process fixed or percentage-based discounts on the sale.

• Gift Vouchers: The system supports the validation and redemption of Gift Vouchers, deducting the voucher amount from the total.

• Reward Points Redemption: Customers can use their accumulated Reward Points to pay for their order, with the points automatically deducted from their account upon sale finalization.

3. Enhanced Sales History and Reporting

The new version provides cashiers and managers with better visibility into daily sales performance.

• Personalized Sales History: Cashiers can now view a history of orders processed under their user ID.

• Advanced Filtering: The sales history includes robust filtering capabilities, allowing users to quickly search by Order ID, Customer Name, or Date Range (From/To).

• Grand Total Calculation: A dedicated method to calculate the Grand Total of a cashier's sales allows for instant shift reconciliation and end-of-day reporting.

4. Technical Improvements for Easier Management

The installation and maintenance process has been simplified for developers and administrators.

• Programmatic Installation (No install.sql): Database setup is now handled entirely within the module's PHP code via the install() method. This eliminates the need for a separate .sql file, ensuring a cleaner and more reliable installation through the Installer.

• Robust Order Creation: The module uses a consolidated createOrder method to generate native orders, including product insertion, stock subtraction, and order history logging, ensuring seamless compatibility with the core e-commerce platform.
